Deuteronomy 1:29-40

1 Corinthians 10:5
Many were blessed, nevertheless there are also many with whom God was not pleased.

He was not pleased with most of them Deuteronomy 1:34-40

All but two were not only disciplined severely, but they were disqualified from their ministry and purpose as a special people of God

Exodus 19:5-6
Exodus 33:14-16
Deuteronomy 4:6-8

Just like the priviledged nation, we could be disqualified when we utterly fail to accomplish God’s purposes for our lives.

THE PEOPLE WITH THE MOST APPROPRIATED THE LEAST.

We can also be disqualified and fail in the ministry God has for us. What’s worse is we have even more than they did.

Ephesians 1:3

We should never presume upon God.

Complacent just because:
– I am a Christian who is blessed with every spiritual blessing.
– I am in a Christian environment surrounded by godly people.
– I am in a Bible teaching church.

As great as these blessings and privileges are, I should never trust in my privileged position. I should never think that I have it made for.

Even though heaven is secured for us by the power of God as a free gift by grace, We are not exempt from failure. We are not exempt from disqualification in the race and from the loss of rewards.

We can never lose our salvation, but We can fail to use it responsibly.

Like Israel, I will have to face the consequences of my failure to live and use my privileges in Christ responsibly.

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure –
Philippians 2:12-13.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints
