What is Love?
Why Pursue Love?
- Love is the Greatest Commandment of Jesus.
- Love God with all our heart, with all our soul, mind and with all our strength – Mark 12:30.
- Love your neighbor as yourself – Mark 12:31.
- Loving is the greatest proof of Christ-likeness.
Do not follow your feelings, but your Faith.
Feelings will help you to defeat, but Faith will lead you to beat.
If you know what you should do, but did not do it just because you do not feel like it, you are a hypocrite. Obeying means loving someone even if we do not feel loving them. (Romans 13:8,10)
People will see that we love Jesus because we love one another and not by our presence in church or the number of our memorized scriptures. Everyone will know that we are disciples of Jesus, if we love one another – John 13:35.
Loving the unlovable is the greatest form of love. We should love despite imperfections and love imperfect people.
We should owe nothing to anyone except love. The proof of our Christ-likeness is our concern for the welfare of others.
Love our enemies. We need to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, pray for those who mistreat us – Luke 6:27- 28.
- Love is the Greatest Value. 1Corinthians 13:13.
Pursue love because that is the only thing that will last. Whatever we do or have does not matter if we do not have a love – 1Corinthians 13:1-3.
